Car HVAC filters attract fine particles (e.g. dust, powder, etc.) from outside the vehicle that are invisible to the naked eye and remove unpleasant odours and fumes. When these particles enter the vehicle, they can not only cause allergies to car passengers, but they can also cause mould and bacteria to grow in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), which can cause the car to emit odours when the HVAC is activated, heated or cooled. The HVAC filter not only eliminates these odours in one go, but also eliminates allergy problems (such as tearing and itching) caused by fine particles for drivers and passengers. Activated carbon filters also filter the exhaust gases from cars and tractors, thus cutting off the source of foreign odours from entering the interior of the car and keeping the air inside the car fresh at all times.

In order to prevent contaminated air from entering the car, drivers and passengers usually set the HVAC to an internal recirculation mode that blocks the inflow of outside air. However, if the air conditioning system is left in internal circulation mode for long periods of time, the oxygen level in the car will drop, making passengers feel tired and drowsy, and it will also cause fogging on the windows. The use of a car air conditioning filter will easily solve these problems and ensure that the occupants can breathe in the fresh air from outside.

Masuma HVAC filters are broadly divided into three types of filter materials:

I. Environmentally friendly filter material:

The new generation of high-tech environmental protection filter material consists of a three-layer structure, the first layer is a willow-green long-fibre support layer, mainly filtering withered leaves and large particles of dust impurities; the second layer is a dark grey non-woven protective layer, effectively filtering mould spores and fine soot; the third layer is a meltblown fine filter layer, effectively filtering nano-level fine dust, anti-bacterial and anti-virus.

Thickness (only about 1.1mm), grammage (about 140g/㎡), breathability (more than 1500 litres of gas per square metre per second); filtration accuracy (can filter out more than 70% of the fine dust and impurity particles of 0.3 microns in the air); antibacterial effect (can adsorb, inhibit and kill more than 90% of E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans in the air).

Activated carbon filter material.

The new generation of activated carbon filter material consists of four layers (gradient deep filtration mechanism combined with electrostatic technology), the first layer is a willow-green long fiber support layer, mainly filtering withered leaves and large particles of dust impurities; the second layer is a black non-woven protective layer, effectively filtering mold spores and fine soot; the third layer uses real coconut shell activated carbon, effectively blocking unpleasant industrial waste gas and toxic car exhaust and allergenic pollen. The fourth layer is a meltblown fine filter layer, which effectively filters nano-level fine dust, antibacterial and anti-viral.

Thin carbon filter material thickness (about 1.7mm), grammage (about 370g㎡); thick carbon filter material thickness (about 2.2mm), grammage (about 550g㎡), breathability (more than 800 litres of gas per square metre per second); filtration accuracy (can filter out more than 50% of the fine dust and impurity particles of 0.3 microns in the air); antibacterial effect (can adsorb, inhibit and (more than 70% of E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans in the air); gas adsorption performance (can effectively adsorb toluene, butane, sulphur dioxide and other harmful substances in the air).

Caution

1. The air conditioning filter must be replaced with the car switched off.

2. When installing the filter, pay attention to the installation direction of the filter to avoid reversing it (pay attention to the direction when removing it).

3. Please buy the HVAC filter from the regular manufacturer, look at the appearance and size and compare.

4. When screwing the screws and removing the clips, be sure to master the appropriate strength.

5. Check if the HVAC filter is in place after installation. The filter needs to cover the entire air duct and be tightly fitted around it, otherwise, it will lead to filter failure.

Replacement and installation steps

1. Generally the HVAC filter is located in the glove box on the passenger side. First remove the glove box.

2. Then open the clip on the right side of the HVAC filter cover and remove the old HVAC filter.

3. Install the new HVAC filter, paying attention to the direction of installation, with the arrow marking, the arrow upwards.

4. Cover the air conditioning filter cover.

5. Put it back into the glove box and the air conditioning filter replacement is complete.
