Anti-freezing Solution Anti-freezing solution, also named coolant, can prevent the radiator burst and the engine cylinder block or cover damage due to coolant freezing during vehicle’s parking in cold winter. It mainly designed to protect the normal and good operation of engine and to circulate in the engine water tank, and thus plays a role in the freezing, boiling, rust and corrosion prevention. Generally, anti-freezing solution is in red, green or blue, so as to facilitate the leakage observation or to be distinguished from other engine liquids in case of confusion. The main component of anti-freezing solution on the market is ethylene glycol featured by its high boiling point and low freezing point. Anti-freezing solution is not subject to either season or region. Nevertheless, freezing point and boiling point work as its two primary indicators. Many people may believe that anti-freezing solution only applies to winter season but the fact is that it shall be used throughout the year.
